This is much of what the parasympathetic pain community practices. I learned a lot from them and subscribed to the Curable app. Two years of increasing leg pain that I thought came from my back without a good resolution, turned out to be a hip going bad, really bad by the time it was discovered. The pain wasn’t in the hip but was referred pain in all of my leg, including my knee and ankle joints. But even though my pain came from a structural issue (resolved with hip replacement surgery), I learned not to be afraid of my pain, to talk to my brain, to use techniques akin to meditation practice, journaling to release my anger about it and forever and always I will be grateful for what I learned. The techniques are definitely useful for the normal aches and pains of my elder years and for some wonky back issues.
